I am hoping you have had the chance to look at the D2L shells. We will be focusing on literacy and math for the remainder of the year but I will incorporate Science and Social Studies into your FLA and ELA lessons.


In your ELA shells, you will find a pdf version of Holes as well as an audio version.  I would like for you to finish the book by Friday April 10th. We are on chapter 39. I have attached questions from chapters 39-50 in your ELA shell. Please submit to me in D2L when you complete them.


After you finish reading the book or listening to the audio reading of the book, I would like for you to watch the movie (link included in D2L.)  Once you have finished watching the movie, please make a list of all the ways the book and the movie were similar and all the ways they were different.  (Compare and Contrast) This can be in completed in point form but please pay attention to grammar and spelling. I would like for you to complete this by Tuesday April 14th and also submit in D2L in the appropriate folder.

Starting the week of April 6th, my virtual office hours will be on Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00 until 1:30. This will be a time for you to ask any questions for clarification. The rest of the info will be posted on the D2L shells and here on the blog.

A Note from M. Soliman

 Hello 6-3! I hope that you've all been able to enjoy the Spring Break as much as possible in light of these interesting times. While you're not in the school building, if you can keep a regular routine of sleep, meal times, studying, family and fun times (the air outside is fresh!), that will be of great benefit to you and yours!

(Je ne ramasse pas ce travail)*Les réponses des exercices apparaissent dans l’espace « parents »*Tu pourras imprimer le glossaire pour mieux te préparer pour ton évaluation. (Si tu n’as pas ton cahier de notes.)*Tu devras compléter un travail (évaluation) qui comptera pour une note dans le bulletin.Les exigences de ce travail te seront expliquées dans le Blog vendredi le 3 avril.

PS. C'est triste qu'on avait besoin d'annuler le test de maths des angles. Je suis certain que vous auriez réussi parce que vous étiez bien préparé.

Hi parents and students of 6.3, I hope everyone is keeping safe and practicing the advice of the health officials by practicing social distancing which is staying at least 2 metres away from anyone who is not family. We are still working out the details for what online learning will look like after next week but I have started working on the D2L shells so please try and login and email me with any questions or even if you just want to say hello at sgturner@cbe.ab.ca I am in the process of adding content to these shells so please don't worry about printing anything for now or figuring out what my expectations of you are, it will all be communicated to you shortly.     We didn't get to finish Holes despite getting so close.  We were at Chapter 39.  Please do not go out and buy this book, please respect the government's request and stay home. Mme Turner February 10-12

Social Studies This week in Social Studies, we made teams for the next social studies project on the provincial government and spent a bit of time researching it, we will continue with this next week. French Language Arts This week in FLA, we continued working on the “concours d’art oratoire” where students research an invention and present it to the class. Presentations will begin on the 18 th .   Next week we will continue learning different expressions in French. English Language Arts This week in ELA, we continued reading the book “Holes.”   We had a reading comprehension test of the chapters 8-17.   . There will be a spelling test next Friday.   We did not have a spelling test this week since it was a short week. Math This week in Math, we are continuing angles in geometry. Week 19: January 24th Math

Math 6-3 Greetings 6-3 Parents, Guardians, and Parents, My name is Nader Soliman. I am teaching Math 6-3 this year.
