Social Studies
This week in Social Studies, students finished researching different roles in the provincial government. Students were given a study guide and time to work on it and then we corrected it together. We also reviewed chapter 6 with a quizlet. On Tuesday March 3rd, we will have a quiz on chapter 6 and afterwards we will begin studying democracy in ancient Athens. Research projects on different services offered in French by the provincial government were returned to students with a rubric and marks are in PowerSchool under outcomes 3 and 4.

French Language Arts
This week in FLA, students had a reading comprehension test on “les expressions.” Tests were returned to students and they were asked to make corrections.  Marks for this reading comprehension test are in PowerSchool.  The rubrics for the oral presentations “concours d’art oratoire” have been returned to students and marks are also in PowerSchool. Students wrote their second dictée and marks for the first and second dictée are now in PowerSchool. Next week we will work on different homophones and start a unit on poetry.

Next week is "Francophone Week."  On Thursday March 5, there will be a food truck and for 8$, students can purchase a poutine and a pop or iced tea.

English Language Arts
This week in ELA, we continued reading the book “Holes” and had a third reading comprehension test. The first two reading comprehension tests have been returned to students, we went over the answers together and marks are in PowerSchool.  Spelling tests #1 and #2 have been returned to students, they were asked to make corrections and marks are in PowerSchool. Next week we will continue with “Holes” and make a brochure of Camp Green Lake since we did not do so this week. We will also be working on friendly letters.  There will be a spelling test on Friday March 6th.

Math
This week in Math, we continued working on identifying, measuring, and creating different angles in geometry. Please make sure your child is bringing their protractor and doing their homework. Here's next week's homework:
lundi: lire p. 146-147 et faire p. 148 #1
mardi: p. 148 # 2 et 3
mercredi: p. 148 # 4 et 5
jeudi: p. 148 # 6

Science
This week in Science, we went over both tests from last week on evidence and investigation.  We also began studying air and aerodynamics.  Marks from the tests are in PowerSchool and your child has their tests in their binders.  If you have any extra bread bags at home, could you send them to school with your child? We will need bread bags for upcoming experiments as well as empty plastic pop bottles.
