Mme Turner February 24-28

Social Studies This week in Social Studies, students finished researching different roles in the provincial government. Students were given a study guide and time to work on it and then we corrected it together. We also reviewed chapter 6 with a quizlet. On Tuesday March 3rd , we will have a quiz on chapter 6 and afterwards we will begin studying democracy in ancient Athens. Research projects on different services offered in French by the provincial government were returned to students with a rubric and marks are in PowerSchool under outcomes 3 and 4. French Language Arts This week in FLA, students had a reading comprehension test on “les expressions.” Tests were returned to students and they were asked to make corrections.   Marks for this reading comprehension test are in PowerSchool.   The rubrics for the oral presentations “concours d’art oratoire” have been returned to students and marks are also in PowerSchool. Social Studies This week in Social Studies, students researched different roles in the provincial government.   Next week we will have a quiz on chapter 6 and we will also begin studying democracy in Ancient Athens. Projects on the services offered by the provincial government to francophones along with rubrics went home yesterday.  Marks are posted on PowerSchool. French Language Arts This week in FLA, we presented the “concours d’art oratoire. Next week we will have a reading comprehension test on different expressions in French as well as a dict é e.   English Language Arts This week in ELA, we continued reading the book “Holes” and had a spelling test.   Next week we will continue with “Holes” and make a brochure of Camp Green Lake. Math This week in Math, we are continuing angles in geometry. We are measuring and comparing angles with protractors. Please make sure your child is bringing their protractor and doing their homework. Here's next week&#

Social Studies This week in Social Studies, we made teams for the next social studies project on the provincial government and spent a bit of time researching it, we will continue with this next week. French Language Arts This week in FLA, we continued working on the “concours d’art oratoire” where students research an invention and present it to the class. Presentations will begin on the 18 th .   Next week we will continue learning different expressions in French. English Language Arts This week in ELA, we continued reading the book “Holes.”   We had a reading comprehension test of the chapters 8-17.   . There will be a spelling test next Friday.   We did not have a spelling test this week since it was a short week. Math This week in Math, we are continuing angles in geometry. Mme Turner February 3-7

Social Studies This week in Social Studies, we finished studying the provincial government and will begin a new research project next week on the specific roles of the lieutenant governor, prime minister, MLA’s and ministers. French Language Arts This week in FLA, we continued working on the “concours d’art oratoire” where students research an invention and present it to the class.  Next week we will continue with this research and we will start the presentations on February 18 th . Students wrote their first dictée today.  We started looking at different expressions in French and will continue with this into next week.  English Language Arts This week in ELA, we continued reading the book “Holes.”  We will have a reading comprehension test next week of the chapters 8-17.  Students are permitted and encouraged to use the book during the test. There will be a spelling test next Wednesday since there is no school Thursday or Friday.  Science This week in Science,
