Mme Turner January 27-31

Social Studies This week in Social Studies, students continued with their research project on different services offered in French in the city of Calgary.   The project outline as well as the rubric are in your child’s binder. The project is due February 4 th . French Language Arts This week in FLA, we finished reading “La Plus Grosse Poutine”, and started working on the “concours d’art oratoire” where students research an invention and present it to the class.   Next week we will continue with this research and there will also be a spelling test in French. English Language Arts This week in ELA, we continued reading the book “Holes” and had a reading comprehension test on the first 7 chapters. We also had our first spelling test.   Next week we will continue our novel study. There will not be an English spelling test week, it will be in French instead.   We will alternate between an English and French spelling test from week to week. Science This week in Science,

Week 19: January 24th Math

Math 6-3 Greetings 6-3 Parents, Guardians, and Parents, My name is Nader Soliman. I am teaching Math 6-3 this year. I look forward to being in touch with you and getting to teach and know your child as the year goes on. We will be continuing in math just as they have already been doing with Mme Poirier. If you have any questions, concerns, or pieces of information you would like me to know, please do contact me.   We will estimate results of decimal numbers ( ÷ /x mentally). Students will have a Math Test on Wednesday, February 5 th 2020 on the unit of decimal numbers (review sheet will be posted a week before). 6-3 Mme Turner January 20-24

Science This week in Science, we studied ink and fibres.   Next week we will continue looking at different fibres and how they react with bleach, coffee and fire.   The chapter on evidence investigation is coming to an end, there will be a quiz in the coming weeks . English Language Arts This week in ELA, we worked on riddles, discussed digital citizenship and started reading the book “Holes.”   Next week we will start working with spelling words and there will be a weekly spelling test.   We will also continue reading “Holes.” French Language Arts This week in FLA, we read from “La Plus Grosse Poutine”, worked on sentence structures, continued oral presentations and we are currently working on posters “Je me pr é sente.” We will continue working on these things next week.
