Social Studies
This week in Social Studies, we finished studying the provincial government and will begin a new research project next week on the specific roles of the lieutenant governor, prime minister, MLA’s and ministers.



French Language Arts
This week in FLA, we continued working on the “concours d’art oratoire” where students research an invention and present it to the class.  Next week we will continue with this research and we will start the presentations on February 18th. Students wrote their first dictée today.  We started looking at different expressions in French and will continue with this into next week. 



English Language Arts
This week in ELA, we continued reading the book “Holes.”  We will have a reading comprehension test next week of the chapters 8-17.  Students are permitted and encouraged to use the book during the test. There will be a spelling test next Wednesday since there is no school Thursday or Friday. 



Science
This week in Science, we looked at how different fibres react with bleach and fire. We will also studied different samples of dirt.  The chapter on evidence and investigation has come to an end, there will be a quiz Tuesday and Wednesday.  Tuesday will be open response questions and Wednesday will be multiple choice.


Math
We finished our unit on decimal numbers, and we are now working on geometry (angles). Students will need their protractors.
